Golfer’s PGA Tour Dream Shattered

Scott Griffith from Fincastle saw his lifelong dream shattered recently at Glade Springs Resort. Griffith had shot a 3-under 69 and was part of a five way playoff for the final qualifying place in the inaugural Greenbrier Classic PGA FedEx Cup. During the event, Griffith had unfortunately hit his golf ball out of bounds.

By doing so, he had lost his first and only chance to play in a PGA Tour event. The situation was bitter for Griffith who had become a professional only five years ago. Since becoming a professional golfer, he had been working hard at a number of pro golf mini tours, but he achieved only small success. Griffith lamented that he had been trying so many times, without any major breakthroughs to a PGA golf tournament.
