The PGA golf tour will be heading down Magnolia Lane this week to Augusta National Golf Club, and the best that golf has to offer will soon be on display. The Tour has never looked better with a fantastic field on one of the most exclusive and beautiful courses in the world. Augusta National is known for its massive pines, rolling hills and colorful fauna.

The combination of both old and young players makes this year's Master's a most interesting competition. It can be argued that the tournament is wide open in terms of who could end up winning. After last weekend's Shell Houston Open, Phil Mickelson is the Monday favorite to win with odds of 5-1, and Tiger Woods is the second choice to win the green jacket with odds of 7-1. The Augusta field features all of the top 10 players in the world, including the best that Europe and the US have to offer.

Nothing highlights the buzz of New Jersey tee times better than a grand golf tournament at one of Jersey's very own courses.

The golf spotlight was recently on New Jersey with the 2011 Sybase Match Play Championship which was held from May 19 until May 22. The championship is a professional golf tournament played on the LPGA Tour. It is a relatively new tournament, having only started in 2010. Since then, the tournament has taken place at the Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, New Jersey.

At the latest championship, a number of highly ranked players participated including the famed Natalie Gulbis, who has appeared in both her own reality TV show called The Natalie Gulbis Show and Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice. In the end, however, the 2011 winner was Suzann Pettersen of Norway, while the runner up was Cristie Kerr. The purse of the Sybase tournament is $1,500,000, with a winner's share of $375,000.

The 17-year-old amateur was at 3 under in the PGA Tour event after a 2-under 68 in the second round Friday.
Jordan Spieth is going to be late for his high school graduation ceremony Saturday, if he makes it at all. For the second year in a row, he made the cut at the Byron Nelson Championship.
The ceremony for Jesuit Prep-Dallas' graduating class of 246 starts at 4 p.m. Saturday on the SMU campus, about 20 miles from TPC Four Seasons where the PGA tour is being held.
"Right after the PGA tour round …. I'm going to shoot over there as quickly as possible," Spieth said. "I don't know how long (graduation) usually lasts."
Since diplomas are handed out in alphabetical order, Spieth, figures that will at least buy him some extra time after the PGA tour performance.
"Exactly," he said, smiling. "Should be at least an hour into it, be toward the end."
After tying for 16th at the Nelson last year, the future Texas Longhorn received a sponsor's exemption again this week.
